William MacKay -
William is focused on creating high performance businesses through marketing that is able to deliver because it is focused on what customers want, how to deliver to their needs, where to position the offering and how to communicate that offering to them. He believes that effective marketing will result from there being solid market based strategic foundations that inject focus into marketing activity. Moreover he believes this has to be backed by clear management processes that enable decisions to be made and people aligned to the marketing tasks need to deliver.
William’s ability to deliver is drawn from many years experience building the foundations for successful marketing and leading on marketing programme execution for organisations with international businesses ranging from start ups to mature blue chip organisations.
He believes that effective marketing will result from there being solid market based
foundations that inject focus into marketing activity. In recent years he has developed
a particular focus on product/service development and marketing recognising that
managing the development of new products and successfully launching them demands
strong processes for decision-
He has held the position of Director European Portfolio management for FirstMark Communications as well as Director Product Marketing and Director Market Planning with Equant, a global leader in managed data networking and IP services. Additionally he held a number of marketing line management positions in BT. He has a 1983 MBA which majored in marketing from Bradford University and a degree in History from Durham University.
