I graduated from Oxford with first class honours in Modern Languages in 1986 to work for J. Sainsbury plc in commodities buying and new product development. After a few of years in the US I began teaching French at all levels in further and adult education, and worked extensively in business language training with companies in North Herts and Beds. I have subsequently qualified as a professional translator with the Institute of Linguists and am an associate member of both the IoL and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI).
I specialise in the following areas: Business (sales and marketing, market research, corporate communications, policy documents); Environment (particular interest in sustainable agriculture); Education; Food industry; Food and drink; Tourism; Arts and general humanities; Politics.
I am also happy to advise on the business of buying translations for companies new to the process, and have an extensive network of professional colleagues in other specialist areas and language combinations.
