What’s in it for you?

 Do you sometimes feel isolated and lacking in Social stimulation? Most of our Ownbiz meetings are informal “semi social” occasions. It is good to just chat and get to know and trust each other. However of course talking business is fine too!

 Do you ever struggle to solve a problem that is outside your area of expertise? Large companies comprise a mix of people with different skills and responsibilities.  In Ownbiz we have that too! One of us has the answer to your questions and can save you a great deal of time and frustration. Just ask!

 Are you really willing and able to do EVERYTHING yourself? When we go it alone we tend to turn our hand to whatever needs doing. That’s fine if you really can do so cheerfully and cost effectively.  However it is worth looking at the alternative of employing somebody else in a flexible way to fill gaps in our available time and experience. Ownbiz membership gives you a pool of “preferred suppliers” to call on as needed.

 Have you ever taken on work that is not really your core business?  There is a tendency, especially at first, to say yes to every business opportunity that comes our way. This can lead to wishing that we hadn’t! However the alternative of qualifying out has disadvantages as well, especially where existing customers are concerned. Several of us in Ownbiz work together to meet the needs and wishes of our clients. It works well!

 Is Marketing your weak area? It can be difficult to generate and maintain visibility and interest in our small business.   Members find that this is a good area to work together on. Often we critique each others efforts and have focused discussions aimed at generating new ideas for a member. Joint Marketing can also be very cost effective.
